Deep snowfalls in the nearby Monashee Mountains afford nordic skiers with consistent cross-country enjoyment. There are upwards of 100 kilometres of groomed trails in the serene wilderness nearby Kelowna, not counting those maintained at the major ski resorts.
Telemark Nordic Club
Telemark Nordic Club is a non-profit sports club dedicated to fostering and promoting the sport of cross-country skiing, and other nordic winter sports. 2500 acre facility offers a modern, spacious chalet with heated washrooms and snack bar. Over 50 km of groomed trails for both classic and skate cross-country skiing, 4.3 km of lit trails, biathlon range, 62 km of snowshoe trails, classic and skate ski and snowshoe rentals and lessons. Offering a full range of lessons, programs, and events.
Kelowna Nordic Ski and Snowshoe Club
Situated in the hills 35 km east of Kelowna BC, on Highway 33, the Kelowna Nordic Ski Club has been providing a unique ski experience since 1977. Rustic facilities, friendly club members and 75 km of beautiful wooded trails, coupled with state-of-the-art grooming and track-setting, define our club. The icing on the cake is the 75 km of snowshoe trails, many with panoramic views.
Sovereign Lake Provincial Park on Silver Star Mountain
These trails are well marked and offer both classic and skate style skiing. To access the park, take Hwy 97 to Vernon and follow the signs to Silver Star Mountain. The cross-country ski trails are located at Sovereign Lake Provincial Park before the entrance to the Resort.
